Can your gut influence how you think, feel, and focus?
In a recent episode of the Träningsklubben podcast, Dr. Shahram Lavasani, immunologist and founder of ImmuneBiotech is interviewed by Jessica Almenäs and Therese Alshammar. The conversation highlights the growing body of research on the connection between the gut microbiome and brain function.
We are very pleased to see this important field receiving increased attention and reaching a broader audience.
During the interview, Dr. Lavasani discusses how imbalances in the microbiome may affect the body’s signaling systems. A key focus is the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which play an important role in gut health, immune function, and brain processes.
The conversation also touches on how these mechanisms may relate to mental balance, focus, and concentration areas that are increasingly being explored in connection with conditions such as ADHD.
Concepts such as the gut-brain axis, the vagus nerve, and the interaction between the immune and nervous systems are central to modern research. An increasing number of studies are exploring how these systems influence one another and the role gut health may play in overall well-being.
At the same time, it is important to emphasize that this field is still evolving and that the relationships are complex. However, interest is growing rapidly both within the scientific community and among the general public.
